Golden Valley High Band Booster Scholarship
(Application date TBD)
Band students interested in furthering their education in the performing arts beyond high school may be eligible to receive a scholarship from the Golden Valley Cardinal Regime Band Boosters. A limited number of scholarships are available to band and guard members.
Eligibility Requirements:
-The student must be a senior who is presently a member of the band or color guard.
-The student must be an active, contributing member of the band program, participating not only in daily classes, but also concerts, solo performances, ensembles and other competitions (i.e., Winter Guard, Winter percussion, Jazz ensembles etc.).
-The student must plan to continue participation in the performing arts, but not necessarily as their major.
Scholarships are awarded by the Golden Valley Band Booster Scholarship Committee based on student’s credentials and on the recommendation of the Golden Valley High School Band Directors. This scholarship will take into account band participation, academic merit, and recommendation.
Minimum Scholastic Requirements: Must have been a member of The Golden Valley Cardinal Regime or a similar program (if the student attended another school) for at least three (3) consecutive years. Must be a senior and a member in good standing of the GVHS band program. Students must have maintained a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA to be considered for a scholarship. Grade criteria will be verified by transcripts.
A letter of acceptance for a college/university must accompany this application. If these are not available, attach whatever documentation you feel demonstrates your intent to attend a college or university (i.e., a personal letter describing your situation).
Proof of full-time enrollment showing continued participation in performing arts from an accredited college/university must be submitted by no later than (Date TBD) to receive scholarship funds.
Applications must be postmarked no later than (Date TBD) to P.O. Box 768, Merced, CA 95341.
Recipients of the scholarship(s) will be named at the awards banquet and Senior scholarship night, but monies will be released from the Band Boosters only upon demonstration of the designees fulfilling all the requirements noted above. This will typically be in September following graduation.
Failure to meet the requirements of the scholarship award will result in monies being returned to the Golden Valley Band Booster scholarship account.
